At Greater Love Baptist Church, we are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing family of faith located in the heart of Thomasville, Georgia. Our mission is simple: to love God, love people, and make disciples.

Meet the Pastors

At Greater Love Baptist Church, we are blessed with dedicated pastors who lead with humility, compassion, and a deep love for Christ and His church. Each member of our pastoral team brings unique gifts and a shared commitment to preaching the Gospel, serving the community, and nurturing spiritual growth.

  • Pastor Jemeka “Meka” McCaskill

    Pastor Jemeka McCaskill hails from Boston, GA, the youngest of Mrs. Sarah E. McCaskill’s twelve children. She is a graduate of Thomas County Central High School and an alumna of Thomas University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management (2009).

    Jemeka accepted Christ and His gift of salvation at the tender age of fifteen and joined the Deliverance Jesus Is Coming Church of Boston GA under the leadership of Pastor Dorothy Brown. She was a member there for sixteen years and served in various areas of the ministry. Jemeka was most recently a member of Word to the World Ministry of Thomasville GA where the Pastors are Dianna and Adam Cooney.

     As a servant and associate minister of Word to the World Ministry, Jemeka prepared and delivered sermons approximately once per quarter. She served in preaching rotation alongside the other ministers and presided over weekly services. In addition, Jemeka often has opportunities to preach the gospel throughout the area when called upon by other churches. Having a love for the House of God, Jemeka enjoys using her time and talents to market and promote church growth and development in both spiritual and practical ways, church government, Women and Youth’s Ministries. Beginning in January of 2021, she has served collaboratively as Guest Minister of Greater Love Baptist Church of Thomasville alongside Minister Chad Ward. On June 11, 2023, she was ordained and installed there as Executive Pastor.

    Her secular vocation has earned her over twenty years in the Banking Industry, three years in Higher Education, and six years in the Manufacturing Industry with a global company. Jemeka is once again enjoying a career in finance, now employed with VanDyk Mortgage Corporation as a Mortgage Loan Originator helping people achieve their dreams of home ownership.

     Jemeka is a member of the Rotary Club of Thomasville GA. She has an insatiable appetite for reading, action movies, television dramas, shopping for home goods and retail, and spending time with close friends and family as her prescription for genuine fun.

     Pastor McCaskill is a woman who loves Jesus Christ, not only with her lips, but also with her life. It is her desire to see every person come to know and accept Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives and develop a personal and intimate relationship with Him that will last their entire lifetime and throughout eternity!

    Her Favorite Scripture: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” St. John 1:14.

    Her Guiding Scripture: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” St. Matthew 6:33.

  • Chad Ward, born in Thomasville, Georgia, is the youngest of seven children and a twin born to Charlie and Willard Ward. He is a husband to Nicole Ward and a loving father to his son, Jiquis Ward. "Chad is also a proud grandfather who delights in his role as 'Papa' to his cheerful grandson, Makai." A 1999 graduate of Thomas County Central High School, Chad earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2005, followed by a Master's in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2011 and a Master’s in Christian Studies with an emphasis on Youth Ministry in 2013.

    Chad began his teaching career in August 2005 at Bishop Hall Charter School, initially part-time in Physical Education. He quickly transitioned to a full-time role, becoming the Health & Physical Education Department Chairman. His exemplary teaching earned him the title of “Teacher of the Year” three times, in the 2011-2012, 2018-2019 and 2024-2025 school years. Chad is an active member of the Leadership Team and the Multi-Tiered Student Support Team at Bishop Hall, where he has organized enriching student trips, including cultural excursions to Atlanta, Washington D.C. and events at Florida State University.

    Chad’s love for sports has led him to a successful coaching career. He served as the Head Girls Track Coach at Thomas County Central High School from 2006 to 2023 and was an assistant coach for the Boys Basketball team from 2005 to 2011 before becoming the Head Boys Basketball Coach from 2011 to 2015. He actively participates in community initiatives, serving on the committees for the United Way of Thomas County and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

    In addition to his educational work, Chad was licensed to preach at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church under the guidance of the late Elder Jimmy Simmons and Elder Marc Black. He is passionate about sharing the gospel through Bible studies and Vacation Bible Schools throughout Thomas County. Since 2021, he has collaborated with Evangelist Jameka McCaskill at Greater Love Baptist Church, expanding his outreach and service. On June 11, 2023, Chad was installed and ordained by Greater Love Baptist Church taking on the leadership role of Senior Pastor.

    In his spare time, Chad enjoys reading, exercising, relaxing, and watching sports. He lives by his “Soup” motto: Success Operates Under Purpose. As a “Spiritual Coach,” Pastor Chad is dedicated to helping others achieve spiritual maturity through prayerful and anointed practices.
